6 Steps To Get Ahead On Instagram For Doctors

Hello, I’m Cheryl and I’m from Clinic Alchemy. I’m the Alchemist that helps you grow your Private Practise online. I want to talk to you about Instagram and how you can grow your Private Practise using this platform.

If you’ve always wanted to know how to use Instagram efficiently, then you’re in the right place. I don’t think there is any secret recipe, However, I think some of my advice can help you build a better following on the platform and have more engagement.

  1. Post consistently.

When you post a picture, make sure you are using the same tone of voice and use a similar filter throughout all of your images. If you’re worried about what to post, then post a picture of your Private Practise or maybe a photo of yourself and the team. Talk about the day-to-day runnings of your Private Practice.

  1. Have a intriguing bio

You need to give people a reason to follow you so your bio is really important as this helps people decide if they are going to follow you or not. Write about what you are passionate about and don’t forget to include your specialised field, for example…

“Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in sports-related hip disorders, Loves to play tennis and see the world when I’m not in Surgery”

You also have the opportunity to include a link to the website or book an appointment.

  1. Add your location to your pictures

Always remember to tag your location when posting a photo to the grid. This will enable your posts to appear in Instagram searches and you’re more likely to get in front of potential patients in your local area.

  1. Use hashtags!

Not many people know that hashtags are a great way of people finding you on Instagram. You can do a little research online to see which hashtags suit you best. To help you out here is a link to ‘140 Healthcare Hashtags to Build Your Social Media Following’ (https://www.bioticahealth.com/blog/social-media/hashtags-healthcare-social-media) You are allowed up to 30 hashtags. I would advise that you make a list in your phone notes and then you can copy and paste them when you are postings a picture.

  1. Be authentic.

Don’t be afraid of posting a picture of yourself, your team or the Private Practise. Usually, your followers want to see who they’re going to visit when they turn up at clinic And you will get 30% more engagement by posting a photograph of yourself. Your followers want to know all about you, it’s up to you how much you want to share.

  1. Reply to your comments

It is really important to reply to all comments, if you don’t, Instagram will penalise you and the algorithm will become very frustrating, so join in, like photos, and follow other accounts. Instagram wants to see that you are engaging, so if there’s someone who’s commenting on your post, make sure you drop him or her a quick reply. This will entice other people to leave a comment too.
